peili.me is a magic mirror app; you take a selfie, upload it and get subconscious emotional feedback on how you look.

Peili.me is that rare thing: an app that tells the truth.

We believe that we have created a new paradigm for selfie/rating apps; Peili.me taps into the subconscious reactions of users, and operators, to give other users completely honest feedback on how they look. It is the ultimate magic mirror.

How It Works

The basic premise is this: you take a photo of yourself & you send it into the app. You have 2 options: Crowd-feedback, which is free, or Neuro-feedback, which you can either earn or buy.

Crowd-feedback

If you select Crowd-feedback your image will be sent to other users. It will flash up on their screens for 100 milliseconds. This doesn’t seem like long but it is enough time to engage the reptilian, primal, subconscious part of the brain and produce a reaction. Users are asked to give these snap-shots of images an attractiveness rating. The brain has already made its judgement but the image is not on screen long enough to allow the user to remember it - so your images always stay private.

It is all easy and simple to do, members just tap the image to indicate attractiveness or not. All of the results are combined with other members assessments and then given back to the member anonymously.

Neurofeedback

But the truly interesting bit is the Neurofeedback option. If you select this option, your image will be sent off to one of our operators. These operators are hooked up to EEG devices, eye-trackers and other equipment for measuring their neural and physiological reaction to images. When the operator views an image these devices track his brain signals, and other bodily reactions to allow us to calculate his emotional response to the image. This data is compiled into a report, which we send to the user, alongside an interpretation of this data in terms of an attractiveness score.

This report is the closest we can get to total honesty. It is a window into the thoughts of others that we dont often have. Effectively, it is being able to read our operators mind.

Members can earn points that they can exchange for Neurofeedbacks just by giving other members feedback on the images that are displayed in the app.
